Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ChillFingers is a macOS desktop application developed by Andreas Kuhl. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data ChillFingers collects (spoiler: almost none) and how we handle it.

2. Data Collection by the App

ChillFingers does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. The app operates entirely offline on your Mac.

Specifically:

• No analytics or telemetry data is collected
• No usage tracking or crash reporting is sent to us
• No network connections are made by the app
• No account creation or sign-in is required

3. Locally Stored Data

ChillFingers stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• Templates and workflows you create (stored in ~/Library/Application Support/ChillFingers/)
• License information (license key and associated email, stored in macOS UserDefaults)
• App preferences (stored in macOS UserDefaults)

This data never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by removing ChillFingers and its associated files.

4. Accessibility Permissions

ChillFingers requires macOS Accessibility permissions to simulate keyboard input and monitor click events. This access is used exclusively to perform the automation tasks you configure. We do not log, record, or transmit any keyboard input or screen content.

5. CSV Data

CSV files you load into ChillFingers are read locally and processed in memory. They are not copied, uploaded, or stored by the app beyond the current session.

6. Website

The ChillFingers website (chillfingers.app) is a static site. We do not use cookies, analytics services, or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may collect standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, requested page) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not processed by us and are subject to the hosting provider's privacy policy.

7. Payment Processing

License purchases are processed by our payment partner Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited). When you purchase a license, Paddle collects payment information (name, email, payment details) as the Merchant of Record. We do not have access to your payment details. Please refer to Paddle's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

8. Your Rights

Since ChillFingers does not collect personal data, there is typically no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have purchased a license through Paddle and wish to exercise your data rights (access, correction, deletion) regarding your purchase data, please contact Paddle directly or reach out to us and we will assist you.

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar regulations, you have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

9. Children's Privacy

ChillFingers is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
